1. Super-Dairies
The increasing prevalence of "super-dairies", dairy farms with
thousand of cows, might actually help boost the demand for "free-range"
and "organic" milk in the UK. More and more people are demanding that
cows graze for at least some time in their life and that they have
access to the outdoors when the weather allows. To read the full article

backlash against 'super dairies' could create new label for 'free range
milk'
Dairy cows suffer intensely in dairy farms from mutilations, cramped
conditions, infections and when their calves are taken away. Although
free-range and organic cows are less abused, all cows are exploited for
the milk they produce and all of them meet the same fate: a
slaughterhouse. Since milk is not an essential ingredient for a
well-balanced and healthy diet, we can show compassion to God's cows by
not supporting the dairy industry.

3. Interview with Melanie Joy, Author of “Why We
Love Dogs, Eat Pigs, and Wear Cows”
Social psychologist Melanie Joy, Ph.D, Ed.M, author of the book "Why
We Love Dogs, Eat Pigs, and Wear Cows", talks in this interview about
carnism, "the invisible belief system that conditions people to eat
certain animals." She argues that most people do not want to
intentionally cause suffering to animals; however, but in the case of
their diet people and society justify eating animals by telling
themselves that eating animals is normal, natural, and necessary. To

Changing the Way We Think about Eating Animals (INTERVIEW)
Christians are called to be compassionate and merciful. Choosing a
diet that involves eating God’s animals is neither.
4. Bible Verse
(RSV) Psalm 119:143
Trouble and anguish have come upon me, but thy commandments are my
delight.
Suffering is inevitable for all creatures on Earth, including us.
Persecution, alienation, discrimination, fear and pain are suffered to
some extent by everyone. However, humans have the capacity to reason and
to choose to follow the path God set forth for us. By following Jesus'
teachings of compassion, mercy and love we can deal with suffering and
in turn many times alleviate it.
5. Jay, A Very Brave Bull
Read the story of Jay, a 2 year-old bull who managed to survive a
crash, flames, burns and a 12-hour chase in order to avoid going back to
the truck that was going to take him to the slaughterhouse. This is a
true story that hopefully help people understand that farmed animals
have a drive to leave and avoid death and pain just like humans.
