What Schools Feed Children

Tim Enstice, manager of the Planned Giving Department for the PETA Foundation, exposes the negative effects of meat-based diets fed to children in schools throughout the country. Although many schools do have vegetarian options, the majority of their food still comes from animals, contributing to the soaring rates of obesity, type 2 diabetes and other chronic diseases. On the other hand, plant-based foods, rich in complex carbohydrates, protein, fiber, vitamins and minerals, contain all the nutrients that kids need to grow up healthy.
