Is Eating Animals A Social Justice Issue?
Melanie Joy, Ph.D., Ed.M., author of the acclaimed book titled Why We Love Dogs, Eat Pigs, and Wear Cows: An Introduction to Carnism, writes a fantastic piece about the need to address the eating of animals as a social justice issue. Dr. Joy emphasizes that carnism is a violent ideology, heavily influenced by culture, and fueled by justification and denial.

Exploiting God’s animals for food indeed falls into the social justice category, because irrespective of ethnic origin, gender, possessions, race, religion, species, etc., all sentient beings should be treated equally and without prejudice. Sadly, God’s farmed animals are routinely exploited relentlessly and unnecessarily.
