Plant-Based on the Rise!
The signs are very clear and encouraging!
- the number of plant-based options at universities has doubled since 2013
- some schools are promoting the new options to non-vegan students; for example, Miami University offered an 80 percent vegan Thanksgiving feast, including vegan mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, and sweet potato casserole, enjoyed by omnivores and vegan alike
- 42 percent of vegetarians are between the ages of 18 and 34, and 12 percent of millennials identify as “faithful vegetarians”
