Meat–eating environmentalist?
Dylan Byron, co-president of the Princeton Animal Welfare Society,
explores in his article the issues behind Kathryn Andersen’s rationale regarding meat-eating.
Ms.
Andersen's sincere affirmation of her love of meat, and at the same time
her efforts to reduce carbon emissions lead to the suggestion to eat
grass-fed beef instead of factory farmed one, without no mention of a
plant-based diet.
Mr.
Byron, on the other hand, rightly conveys the reality behind eating
meat: the cruelty involved in it and its unsustainability. He believes
that, in the case of Ms. Andersen and the rest of the people who approve
of her rationale, "appetite trumps ethics".
