Confirmed H5N1 Strain Bird Flu Outbreak in India
According to health officials,
India confirmed on Thursday that the latest outbreak of bird flu in
poultry was the H5N1 strain. To control the outbreak, Government
workers plan to slaughter 150,000 poultry around the affected farm
in Manipur state. Although India has had no reported cases of human
bird flu, World Health Organization says that since 2003 a total of
192 people have died out of 319 people infected by the virus
worldwide.

benefit causing great misery to them and humanity. Countless poultry
had been slaughtered in the last few years as a way to prevent the
spread of the bird flu virus. Adopting a plant based-diet would help
reduce the number of birds raised for food, and minimize the spread
of the virus.
