E. coli Loophole
According to some inspectors of
the U.S. Department of Agriculture, it is acceptable for meat
companies to cook and sell meat on which E. coli, a bacterium
that can sicken and even kill humans, is found during
processing. They call it the "E. coli loophole", and it affects
millions of pounds of beef each year that tests positive for the
presence of E. coli O157:H7.
The USDA allows this E.
coli-positive meat in a "cook only" special category, since they
say the heat destroys the bacteria and makes it safe to eat.
However, some USDA inspectors cite this reason for the many
incidents of meat recall due to E-coli contamination.

We should take care of our
bodies for they are temples of the Holy Spirit. The USDA is
putting people at risk when allowing such practices as the one
above, while supporting an industry that causes unimaginable
pain and suffering to God's animals and contaminates the
environment.
