The Truth Behind Labels
The Truth Behind The Labels: Farm Animal Welfare Standards and Labeling Practices, is the latest report by animal advocacy Farm Sanctuary detailing labeling schemes used by the animal agriculture in the US. These labels contain terms such as “humane,” “natural,” “cage free” and “organic,” which refer to a wide range of living conditions for animals that are not consistent with what consumers envision.

Just judging by the way the meat industry treat farmed animals, it's not surprising that they uses terms to deceive customers and convince them into buying what they think are animal products obtained in a humane way, while most of the time is not true. It's the public who really has the power to look into what hides behind the labels in order to decide who to support with their purchasing power.
