Good News For Egg-Laying Hens
The plans to build a 6-million-hen capacity battery-cage egg factory farm in Central Ohio have been stopped by the Ohio Department of Agriculture apparently because Hi-Q Egg Products was denied the necessary permit for failing to provide a report on the impact the massive factory farm would have on the surrounding community. This mega farm would have produced at least 74,000 tons of chicken manure and 23 million gallons of manure-contaminated egg-wash water each year, aside from the obvious animal welfare implications.

It is indeed good news for God’s Creation that this huge factory farm will not be built. It is time for all the citizens of the world to take charge of their role as stewards of this planet and stand for justice, love, compassion and sustainability. Otherwise, the generations to come will face a bleak future full of hardship and suffering.
