Factory Farms Are Breeding Ground for Antibiotic-Resistant Bacteria
Once again factory farms are the focus of the fast-growing and serious problem of antibiotic-resistant bacteria. Researchers at Johns Hopkins University and other institutions found out that 37% of workers at factory farms where antibiotics are used have colonies of MDRSA (resistant to several different drugs typically used as treatment) present in the nasal swabs taken from them.
