Many Christian scholars are pondering the issue of our
relationship to God’s animals and our role as stewards of Creation.
One of these scholars is Professor Clough from the University of
Chester in England, author of the book “On Animals", who believes
that human and non-human animals “are created by God, reconciled to
God in Jesus Christ and will be redeemed by God in the new creation”
and that they should be treated accordingly. He advocates a
vegetarian diet if possible and believes no one should eat factory
farmed products.

The Bible refers many times to God’s animals and our role as
stewards of God’s Creation following a path of mercy and compassion.
It should be clear that eating animals unnecessarily does accord
with the principles of compassion and mercy.
